In addition, in terms of purchase and installations, especially in apartments, electric fireplaces are much cheaper in price and much more convenient in installation and operation – it is enough to have a grounded outlet to connect such a fireplace.

Whereas to install a traditional coal and wood fireplace often requires special resolution, redevelopment (if there is no chimney in the room), considerable costs of installation work. Also, an electric fireplace does not require specific care – all that you will need to do is to change the light bulb over time and wipe the surface from dust. Solid fuel fireplaces are much more picky in the issue of service. They need periodic fuel loading, thoroughly cleaning from soot, ventilation from smoke.
Electric fireplace in the interior
Modern electric fireplace is able to imitate the combustion of various types of fuel – these are firewood, coal, and gas. According to existing structures of electric fireplace, the following types are distinguished:
– Built -in electric fireplaces. This name speaks for itself – such fireplaces are inserted into various decorative portals that can be bought with a fireplace or make it yourself, using drywall as a material for the portal, wood. The shape of the built -in electric fireplace is usually rectangular. In the depths of its central part there is a furnace niche with a screen, where the process of the furnace is actually imitated – and we see “glowing placers of coal or flame from burning firewood”. Under the firebox is a basket with a “fuel”, and above the niche is a visor, where you can often find a control panel.
– Wall electric firewood. They are attached either directly to the wall or in the niche on the wall made specifically for these purposes. Their case, as a rule, has a small depth (up to 180 mm), so such fireplaces are compactly located in the room, without occupying a lot of space. The wall fireplace is especially successfully suitable for interior in the Art Nouveau style, high-tech. And therefore, along with the traditional rectangular case, other all kinds of extraordinary forms can have. The easiest way to fasten is just to the wall without any “framework” and finishes. Although a different decorative design of wall fireplaces is possible, so they take the form of bizarre paintings.
– Electric fireplaces standing separately. This type includes electric fireplaces resembling the good old cast -iron furnace, and fireplaces – metal boxes with “glowing coals or envelopes”. This type of electric fireplace can be put in any place you need, and also if necessary, you can transfer to another. Kamin baskets with imitation of burning firewood and coal are used as an independent hearth or as an insert in a combustion niche.
