When selecting curtains, several factors must be taken into account:
1. If the windows of your room are located on the south side, it will be appropriate to take the curtains more tightly so that they absorb bright light. If the window is on the north side, then you should not opt for heavy curtains, it is better to buy curtains from light air fabrics so that the room does not seem gloomy, but remained as long as possible bright.

2. Consider the shape, size of the window and room as a whole when buying curtains. The room of small dimensions will seem even smaller if you clutter up the window with heavy weighty curtains. The fabric with a horizontal strip adjusts the shortcomings of a narrow room with a high ceiling, making it “lower”. Curtains with a vertical strip, on the contrary, “lift” too low ceilings. You can visually correct some shortcomings in the proportions of the room and due to the length of the curtain, which can be both short and descend from the top to floor. For visual expansion of a small window opening, hang the curtains wider than the window itself. To make a large window in a small room look smaller, the width of the curtain should not exceed the size of the window.
3. For premises of different types, you need to select different types of curtains. For example, in the office, it is not at all necessary to create a twilight using dense curtains. But for the dining room, a large living room they will be very helpful.
4. The color aspect is also very important when decorating the window. For a window overlooking the sunny side, it is preferable to choose the colors of cold shades – blue, purple – they will create a feeling of freshness and coolness in the room. In addition, the fabric should be of high quality so that it does not quickly burn out in the sun. It is more correct to arrange a room with a window to the north with a curtain of warm sunny color – yellow, beige.
Curtains of bright saturated colors with large drawings are more suitable for the living room. In the bedroom, it will be more appropriate to hang curtains of pastel shades. When designing a window in a small room, it is better to use fabric of light unobtrusive tones – single -color or with a simple pattern so that the window does not dominate the interior.
Plain fabrics without a pattern are easier to combine with the environment. Curtains with a pattern will be more difficult to harmoniously link with the design of the room. It is necessary to ensure that the dimensions of the patterns, the theme of the drawing correlates with the style of the room.
It is desirable that the shade of the curtains is a little lighter or darker than the color of the walls. Otherwise, they run the risk of getting lost against the general background.
5. Remember that the window is only part of the whole, and not a separate element of the room. Therefore, its decor should not radically differ from the style unity of the room.
