The British singer, songwriter and actor performed at Moore Park in the Australian capital last Thursday. An accident occurred during the concert.
A 70-year-old fan of Robbie decided to climb over the seats to get closer to the stage where the idol was singing. As a result, the woman slipped, lost her balance and fell from six rows of seats.
Medics who were on duty at the venue immediately ran to the scene of the spectator’s fall. They provided her with first aid and called an ambulance. A representative of the company Venues NSW, which is organizing Williams’ tour in Australia, said that the stadium staff acted in a coordinated manner and did everything in their power.
“The visitor was immediately assisted by the venue staff and a nearby neighbor, who was a qualified medical professional. Shortly after, paramedics arrived and the victim was taken by ambulance to hospital,” the organizers noted.
Paramedics arrived at the scene at about 10:15 p.m. “We were called to reports of a woman in her 70s who had fallen. We treated her on stage for facial and head injuries and took her to St Vincent’s Hospital in a critical condition,” a medical spokesman said.
Doctors have been fighting to save the patient’s life for days, but their efforts have been in vain. St Vincent’s Hospital reported that the Robbie Williams fan has died from her injuries. The former Take That member has not yet made an official statement about the tragedy. The artist’s representatives have not commented on the incident, the Daily Mail reports.
