Mirrors are widely used in any interior, but few know that with the help of mirrors you can radically change the appearance of your apartment, make it visually larger and change the proportions of the premises. All this can be done with the help of mirror ceilings, which, thanks to modern technologies, have become light and waterproof.
The mirror suspended ceiling gives the interior of elegance and makes it lighter. This finish fits perfectly into any design and is suitable for any room.. When installing a mirror ceiling in the bathroom, it is worth avoiding direct contact of the mirrors of water.
Mirror vault – these are not necessarily plates of an ordinary mirror, glued tight to the ceiling. Currently, ceilings made of metal or plastic are able to reflect reality. When using traditional glass mirrors, it is very important to qualitatively prepare the base of the ceiling, since unnecessary roughness can lead to the fact that the reflection will be broken, and therefore the entire aesthetic effect will be lost.
It is important to consider that glued glass canvases are quite heavy, which means they can accidentally peel off under the weight of their own weight, so for greater reliability it is better to “plant” them on glue and additionally fix them with dowels, closing the latter with special chrome caps. The mirrors of polyacrylate glass (plexiglass) or polycarbonate are also attached to the ceiling and polycarbonate. The main advantage of these materials is their lightness.
The disadvantage of mirror ceilings is that the mirrors, as a rule, are very easily polluted. And this means that to maintain the beauty of the ceiling at least 2 times a month you will have to take up for a stepladder.
You can create a mirror ceiling not only using glass canvases, but also using aluminum rack systems with a chrome surface. True, such a surface will not be continuous.
Another way to make the ceiling mirror is the installation of a suspended ceiling with mirror slabs. The advantages of such systems include corrosion resistance of the material system (galvanized steel).
The most modern and at the same time unpretentious option is a mirror ceiling made of polystyrene plates. This material is sold in rolls and on one side has a sticky layer protected by a special film. Before you “light up” your ceiling, polystyrene must be straightened under the load. After gluing, the surface is smoothed with a rubber roller.
Stretch ceilings can also be mirror. Such ceilings can be matte, satin and glossy. Of course, even from the most smooth surface, the reflection of objects is slightly blurred, so that a complete feeling of mirroring cannot be achieved. But despite the fact that you do not see your reflection in the ceiling, the height of the room is still visually increased, and with this the number of lighting devices is doubled (visually, of course).
