In heating systems, various types of pipelines are used. Basically, pipes are made of steel, non -ferrous metals (copper, aluminum) and polymers.
In apartments, steel pipes are most common, due to their relatively low cost. The main disadvantage is very low corrosion resistance. There are several ways to protect against the formation of corrosion, one of them is zinc. But in the galvanizing system it is contraindicated to use antifreeze. Among other things, another drawback is a complex and expensive installation.
Non-ferrous metals are not widespread due to high cost. They have several advantages over steel: do not corrode, comply with the norms of ecology in certain standards.
Huge turns have recently been gaining polymer pipes of different types. They come from metal -plastic, polypropylene, polyethylene, etc. The cost is higher than that of steel, but much lower than copper. However, the number of advantages: a small share, lack of corrosion, convenience and ease of assembly and installation, overshadows their cost.
Due to the high quality of construction and reliable thermal insulation of buildings, as well as the use of local or autonomous heat supply facilities, the temperature of the coolant decreased to 90 degrees. As a result, it became possible to use a plastic pipeline instead of steel. The use of many pipes from plastic ones is due to working parameters: radiation heating of the panels is not more than – 60 ° C, the maximum heating of the coolant is 95 ° C.
Important quality of polymer pipes is low thermal conductivity. Thanks to this quality, heat is maintained in the system, energy is saved that is spent on heating other types of coolant.
Consider two types of heating systems: polypropylene and metal -plastic.
When choosing products from polymer material, attention is paid to the following points: the temperature of the coolant and working pressure, wiring the heating system and its type, features of the architectural part of the building.
Polypropylene like metal -plastic, is distinguished by excellent corrosion resistance, low thermal conductivity and durability. But there are features. Polypropylene pipes and fittings are cheaper, but the assembly at a negative temperature is impossible.
Metal -plastic products are quickly and easily assemble and mounted. In addition, it is flexible and is able to go through corners and irregularities without the use of additional parts. This type is often used when installing a warm floor.
