The choice of laminate
The question is – is it possible to make a warm floor under the laminate as the main heating of the room, makes many think. In fact, this is possible and even justified.
However, not the entire laminate loves the warm floor, since it consists of wood, and behaves accordingly – with high humidity it swells, and high temperature will cause the surface and its deformation.
When choosing a laminate, you need to pay attention to the presence of a special icon on the package, which reports that the coating is compatible with the warm floor. The thickness of the coating is more than 8 mm, since less subtle material is deformed from temperature change.
Choosing a warm floor system
There are three types of warm floor.
Water warm floor. This system is permissible only in private houses. Distinctive features:
installation and maintenance of a water warm floor is quite expensive;
The malfunction will lead to high costs during the repair, the flowing pipes will damage the flooring;
Connection to central heating will not allow you to adjust the temperature, and the laminate does not like high temperatures.
Electric warm floor. The first most popular type of warm floor, but it is not suitable for laminate and other coatings with low thermal conductivity, since the heating element should heat the screed in which it is located, and only then heat is transmitted to the coating. High energy costs make the use of electric warm floor unprofitable.
Film warm floor. The system is called so because it works on the basis of conductive material evenly distributed on the shelf. Advantages:
installation does not require glue and screed;
low energy consumption;
supports the same temperature level.
Installation
The following materials are required for installation:
thermal regulator;
scotch;
heat -refracting material on a soft basis;
Polyethylene film to protect the film from possible moisture.
Installation steps:
The first layer lay the heat -refracting material.
The thermal soldier must be cut along the lines to the desired length, lay and fixed with adhesive tape.
Install a thermostat.
The thermal stripes must be connected by wires that are included.
Provide the tight fit of clamps and contacts.
According to the connection scheme, connect the thermostat and film.
Connect the floor to the network and check for work.
Close the entire surface with polyethylene film and you can start laying the floor.
